What are botox injections?

Botox is derived from the bacterium Clostridium Botulinum. The cosmetic version of this toxin is highly diluted, making it safe and effective for many medical and cosmetic procedures.

Patients will meet with us so we can discuss whether Botox is the right treatment for them and suits their skincare needs.

We ask patients to keep the area to be treated free of topical products and to refrain from taking blood thinning medications within 24 hours of treatment.

The procedure can be done the same day as the consult, depending on patient needs.

We apply a numbing cream to ensure the patient feels as comfortable as possible.

The procedure itself takes 5-30 minutes, depending on the amount of botox desired and where.

After the procedure, arnica may be given or an ice pack to lessen any swelling (which should be minimal).

The patient is verbally explained aftercare instructions, which are also sent to them via email. We follow up within 1-2 days regarding the treatment and aftercare.

Results are expected to begin within 2-4 days, but full results come in 2 weeks.
